Geographical location
Ungheni is located in the center of the Transylvanian Plateau, at the confluence of the Niraj and Mureș Rivers, in the latter’s floodplain. Neighboring settlements: to the north, Band and Pănet; to the south, Suplac and Mica; to the east, Cristești; and to the west, Sânpaul.
Transportation Infrastructure
Ungheni is accessible by road via the E 60/DN 15 route (Târgu Mureș – Ungheni), as well as the DJ 151D (Acățari – Ungheni) and DJ 151B (Târnăveni – Ungheni) routes. Additionally, access is available via the Transylvanian Highway, DL 124 (Nazna – Şăuşa – Vidrasău – Ungheni), DL 125 (Sântioana – Moreşti – Ungheni), and by train via the Ungheni railway station or nearby stops. Air travel is available through the “Transilvania” International Airport in Vidrasău.

Prioritized projects
- Modernization of streets and sidewalks on Prieteniei Street, as well as in Înfrățirii and Paroște Streets in Vidrasău.
