The current members include the city of Târgu Mureș, as well as the town of of Ungheni, and the Municipalities of Acățari, Bălăușeri, Ceuașu de Câmpie, Corunca, Crăciunești, Cristești, Ernei, Gheorghe Doja, Glodeni, Gornești, Livezeni, Mădăraș, Pănet, Sâncraiu de Mureș, Sângeorgiu de Mureș, Sântana de Mureș și Sânpaul.
The main goal of the Association is to identify the common interests of the localities and to develop joint projects for harmonious regional development. Due to development disparities, cooperation is crucial in areas such as drinking water supply, wastewater management, waste management, and transportation. The municipalities work together through dialogue to align their development plans.
The Association’s goal is to utilize structural funds to improve the economic and social environment of the metropolitan area.
