Geographical location
Gheorghe Doja is located 11 km southwest of Târgu Mureș, on the left bank of the Niraj River. The county road Ungheni – Acățari – Sighișoara passes through the municipality.
Transportation infrastructure
The 151D county road crosses through Leordeni, Gheorghe Doja, and Ilieni, connecting with the DN15 road that leads to Târgu Mureș. There is also a narrow-gauge railway between Târgu Mureș and Sovata (currently out of service). The municipality is connected by the 68 and 68D communal roads, linking the center of Gheorghe Doja with Tirimia and Satu Nou.
